Lazy 5 Ranch
Saturday, Oct 22, 2011 was our family trip to Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, NC We couldn't have asked for better weather! Sunshine blue skies and 60's! All the family including Sharon and Don met at 10 AM for our excursion. First time around, we had Randy, Kevin, Angie & myself in the back our chauffeur, Don. I couldn't start to name all the animals but, here goes, Lama's (which spit on me first time around by the way. We saw lots of deer in all shapes and sizes. Potbellied pigs - one little teensy baby that we all wanted to take home; cows, long horn steers, etc. (lots more)
After our first round (3.5 miles) we had our picnic spread which was simple but, good and enjoyed by all. Of course see below, Holden enjoyed a bit of the playground equipment including the slide and swing. He is the cutest ever! Like Angie kept saying; "I'd like to squeeze him" :)

Our new family member, Harley
Welcome Harley! This is a picture of her very first trip to see Dr King at Town & Country in Burlington for a quick checkup before meeting her new brother - Murphy. Harley is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi born 7/7/2011. She weighed 8.5 lbs at her apt on 9/15 but, she is growing quickly! She started puppy school last week and so far so good! We have mastered sit, watch and down. Leash training seems to be our biggest obstacle as she thinks it should be a tug of war game instead. So, stay tuned with more progress as I we are trying to be the "Pack Leader" this time! Wish me luck!

Tribute to Barney and Andy
A little bundle of joy
Brought home so long ago
We fell for him right from the start
The love was real, we know
At first it seemed he was ours to keep
So safe and sound…but, no
For looking back we realize
He came to help us grow
To teach of love unconditional
And friendship with no end
To make you feel a special way
He had broken hearts to mend
Always making welcome
Whoever would drop by
And help you through the sad times
With comfort when you cried
It’s true that living in our hearts
Even when they’re gone
Will keep alive the memories
That helps us to go on
But still we shed so many tears
The pain is real and deep
We think of all that we have lost
And dream of him in sleep
But now he runs and plays all day
Corki and Christi at his heel
The aches and pains will be no more
Only good things will he feel
And now he watches over us
To see that we’re okay
And we will keep on missing him
Until we meet again one day
We miss you,
Barney – 4/19/1999 – 3/29/2011
